NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), New Delhi, conducts examinations for admission to the Army, Navel and Air Force wings of the NDA twice every year. Advertisements starts releasing in May and November in Employment News and some other national dailies along with format of the Application form. Examinations are conducted in October and April and our course commences in January and July. Eligibility Conditions

Nationality: A candidate must either

(I) a citizen of India, or

(II) a subject of Bhutan or

(III) a subject of Nepal. Sex and Marital Status: Only unmarried male candidates are eligible. Candidates should note that only the date of birth as recorded in Matriculation / Higher Secondary examination certificate are eligible.

Academic Qualifications 12th Pass of the 10+2 pattern of school education or equivalent examination conducted by State Education Board or a University. For Naval Wing of National Defence Academy and for the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent wit Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or a University. Candidates who are appearing in the 12th class under the 10+2 equivalent examination and are allowed to appear in the UPSC Examination should note that this is only a special concession given to them. They are required to submit the proof of passing the 12th class or equivalent examination by the prescribed date.

The subject of the written examination, the time allowed and the maximum marks allotted to each subject are follows:

Mathematics, General Ability Test, Total Marks 900.

The papers in all the subjects consist of objective type questions only. The question papers is set in English only.
