HOTEL MANAGEMENT

Globally, as also in India, hotel industry is the fastest growing industry it has risen rapidly over the past few years. In India, because of globalisation, foreign tourists are visiting the country for business purposes; many also come here as tourists. It earns a substantial amount of foreign exchange for us. Even in the domestic sector, Indians have also started visiting many places and, as a result, tourist inflow is also on a rise divine good business opportunity for hoteliers. In fact, it is estimated that the number of international travellers is more than 500 million at present.

National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology, New Delhi, holds a joint Entrance Examination for admission to first year of 3 - year diploma programme in Hotel Management at the nineteen Government - sponsored Institutes of Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition spread all over the country. For this purpose, aspiring candidates will have to appear in an objective - type written Entrance Examination.

The Examination tests the candidate's ability in

(a) Reasoning and Logical Deduction (50 questions).

(b) Numerical Ability and Scientific Aptitude (50 questions).

(c) General Knowledge (50 questions).

(d) General English (50 questions).
